New equipment for X-ray inspection and additive manufacturing

1/25/24

New equipment for X-ray inspection as well as for additive manufacturing have arrived.

Our new X-ray machine is the Comet Yxlon Cheetah Evo, equipped with a high-resolution digital detector capable of discerning details with precision below 0.5 microns. Three-dimensional computed tomography (CT) enables the detection of various defects that may not be visible through traditional 2D X-ray inspections. The Cheetah Evo is suitable for high-quality X-ray inspection and quality control of printed circuit boards, electronics, encapsulated components and modules, as well as sensors.

Our 3D printing capacity was supplemented with a large-scale printing apparatus. The Super Discovery 3D Printer Workstation, manufactured by CNC Barcenas, is located in the new Xamk Wood and Hybrid Construction Laboratory. This gantry-type 3D printer has a printing volume of 1.3 x 2.5 x 1 m. It accommodates a wide range of granulated thermoplastic polymers and composites as printing materials. The workstation includes a 45° printing head and milling head for post-processing of surfaces, significantly expanding the application field of large-scale 3D printing.
